Loutraki 2025 CSIT World Sports Games, set to be held in the picturesque seaside town of Loutraki, Greece, promises to be a landmark event for its commitment to sustainability. Recognizing the profound impact large-scale sports events can have on the environment, the organizers have integrated sustainability into every stage of the event. This approach ensures that the Games not only promote athletic excellence but also foster environmental and social responsibility.
The sustainability strategy of the 2025 CSIT World Sports Games is deeply integrated into all aspects of the event. This includes careful selection of venues, consideration of transportation logistics, resource management, and waste reduction efforts. By embedding these principles into the core of the event, the Games aim to showcase how large-scale sports events can harmoniously coexist with the environment and contribute positively to the local community.
renewable energy
Renewable energy
Organizers will set goals for the renewable energy used during the event. SPORTCAMP, the main sport venue, is already a producer of renewable energy (solar power) that largely covers the energy needs of the Games. Additionally, all sport venues use solar panels for water heating. Finally, SPORTCAMP’s main fuel is environmentally friendly (LPG gas).
eco-friendly transportation
Eco-Friendly Transportation
Loutraki 2025 CSIT World Sports Games ensures the minimization of local travel time between sport venues, hotels and games’ sites as well as the need for car rental. As almost 70% of sports facilities, hotels and games’ sites are located within a 10 km radius, it is very likely that participants will walk, bike or use the dedicated transport system with shuttle buses.
eco-friendly transportation
USE OF LOCAL PRODUCTS
By using products such as food, materials, and equipment from the local community, the event reduces its carbon footprint associated with transportation. This not only supports local businesses and promotes regional culture, but it also ensures fresher, higher-quality products.
